Tax Credits Are Available in Oklahoma For Energy Efficient Windows, Siding & Doors
Now there is even more reason to improve your Oklahoma home's energy efficiency with insulated vinyl siding, replacement windows and doors.
As part of the recent stimulus legislation (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) residential and federal tax credits are now available through the 25c – Non-Business Energy Property Tax Credit when you purchase qualifying siding, windows and patio doors from Sooner State Siding and Windows Oklahoma. While this tax credit is an extension of a 2007 program that required ENERGY STAR ® as the minimum energy efficiency performance, the requirements for qualifying products for 2009 have changed.
Energy Tax Credit Eligibility
- The siding, windows or doors must be used to improve an existing home.
- This energy tax credit does not apply to new homes.
- The energy efficient home improvements must be “placed in service” between January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010. “Placed in service” is defined as when the property is ready and available for use.
- The structure must be the taxpayer’s primary residence.
